I’m pretty committed to calling the decade “the first decade of the 21st century,” “the first decade of the 20th century,” etc. It’s a little cumbersome, but just don’t think I could refer to the “aughts” with a straight face. It seems too cute and, at least for me, always does sound like it’s with a wink or in quotation marks.
