Michaelangelo Matos on the 1990s Music Renaissance

…..not jaded…….as someone who works in the music industry and has for the past 20 years, I can tell you that it’s hard NOT to feel jaded when it comes to music today. The 90’s were a great time for music because bands wanted to work; they were into extensive touring, just getting in a van and going for it…without myspace, etc…..now, when I review music, all which is my own opinion it’s all protools, riffs ripped off from other bands which is apparently now called a “mash up”, attitude and arrogance…..todays musicians are lazy who want the fame, money, fancy riders and tour buses without the work. Music of the 90’s was real and honest, unlike the music of today, which is mostly horrid…..

Of all the events GOOD could attend and all the places to promote your magazine, this is the WORST idea….drunken hipsters and wanna be musicians will only come to the event for the free drinks and swag and will never remember GOOD Magazine again or do anything for them. As someone who worked in the music industry for 25 years and made a career change to social entreprenaurship I know this is true…if you want to be hip, you are with the biggest bunch of losers around and wiil accomplish nothing…
