@Sopherion: Thanks for pointing the bit aout the constitutional ammendment. In the case of the new HOA, I’m all for it.
This is completely biased. Granted the “against” side is not logical by normal standards, nevertheless both sides are hardly represented equally. The creator is obviously turning the “against” side into a farce. This would be better posted on cracked.com than here.Homosexuals should not be penalized for their lifestyle, but by the same token churches should not be forced to perform ceremonies or recognize a union they deem counter to their beliefs. There should be a “state” marriage where the government recognizes the union and then a “church” marriage where the couple is recognized by a church (if the church supports them) that they are afiliated with, if they choose. To demand that Christians perform gay marriages thereby causing them to agree to someting they believe is fundamentally wrong is outrageous. If you don’t agree with the Home-Owners Assoc. don’t move into the neighborhood. Why force someone to forsake their own beliefs, it’s incredibly selfish and arrogant.I understand that not all (very few, in fact) Christians have this outlook. But don’t feed the fire with rhetoric and preposterous arguments just to make a certain side seem more intelligent. Extreme “Against’s” are just as bad as extreme “For’s”. Let the Christians have their beliefs and the gays have theirs.
Interesting point. Although I’m not a big fan of people replacing real life experience with virtual, I think that social-networking on a healthy level is a benefit. I like the idea that we are consuming non-expendable items, but it’s scary to think we are neglecting reality. I don’t want to see people end up like the humans in WALL-E.
Wow, not sure if I buy this…
@coquito: I guess my argument got blended. Most “churched” people try and tie the two together. I brought points from a diferent discussion into this one, as long as churches arent forced to perfomr the ceremonies, I’m all for same sex marriage.
