Jonathan Kalan, founder of The (BoP) Project, is an internationally published journalist, photographer, and blogger specializing in social business & innovation in emerging markets. In just 24 years he has traveled to over 34 countries, worked in South Asia and Africa, and collaborated with NGO’s, social enterprises, technology start ups, and media companies. nnHis photography/writing has recently appeared in The Guardian, Financial Times, Christian Science Monitor, Destination Magazine EA, The Star (Kenya), Stanford Social Innovation Review, On The Ground (New York Times blog), Beyond Profit, and several others. Jonathan is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, freelancing for various media outlets. nnHe is a Staff Writer for NextBillion.net, a regular contributor to Dowser.org, and a Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards 2011 Finalist.
