Should be an interesting show… excited to see the first episode
Does anyone know when this was first discovered?
Great post! Yay for bicycle week!
The problem lies within the infrastructure of Los Angeles. We are a city built around the freeways. Effective methods of public transportation, such as a city wide subway, would require a complete restructuring of the city. The question is whether or not the time and money would be worth it.
“The need for a house built on rock rather than on sand”- perfect. This process is a lengthy one. As mentioned in the TIMES article, the first 100 days of presidency is not an adequate measurement of our national leader. Change is a slow process and I truly believe Obama has it in him to see out.
WOW. What an amazing piece. The extent of the waste we create isn’t fully realized until we SEE it. Seeing it is a whole new way of believing. Things will not improve until the American consumption culture changes to one of conservation and necessity.
Agreed. I just watched the video. For all those interested here’s the link to VBS’ Garbage Island
