God, what garbage. No accounting for key…or tempo…let alone the style of music…someone should be permanently deafened as punishment for this.
What’s funny about this is William Henry Harrison (#1 on the list) died of pneumonia he caught during his inaugural address. Now that I know how long it is I don’t feel so sorry for him.
Whoops, mis-type. Word “clean” in first sentence should be “cheap.” Thanks.
Coal isn’t clean, but without it Americans will have to be cured of their addiction to clean electricity. In Ohio and Kentucky, electricity has always been incredibly cheap, thanks to our proximity to coal plants. The technology for “cleaner” energy is on the way, but I’d guess we have at least another decade before it’s economically viable. Never mind the necessary infrastructure refurbishment… Yes, coal use is a terrible alternative. I have no illusions it is clean. But, like oil, it will be a while until the US is independent of coal. Especially since we’re pretty reluctant to change our habits.
Also Amtrak can’t count on Americans for a reliable customer base. For all the novelty of rail travel I have never taken Amtrak, and my guess is most Americans are the same way. Upgrading the rail system isn’t feasible until a profitable customer base comes into being, which is less likely considering how much Americans love their cars.
