Surely you mean, sperflos?  ;-)Anyway, I’d love to hear about the environmental friendliness of the materials used to produce and then remodel this boat.  And by the way, this boat is not new, just new to Sea Shepherd.  It already set a record for circumnavigation of the planet and began its sea trials in 2006.

Seems to me the author has confused “great” with popular.  There’s always been a lot of great music about that hasn’t made it into the popular psyche, in a variety of genres.  I wonder if the graphic wouldn’t be even more accurate if the sheer volume of rock songs being produced, regardless of greatness, was compared to oil production.

The problem with a term such as, “affordable” is that it’s a relative one.  What’s affordable to a wealthy person may not be affordable to someone of lesser means–it’s a meaningless buzzword.  Rather like calling a used car “certified pre-owned.”I can’t tell you how many home designer websites I’ve been to where they tout their design as affordable.  Looking into it I often find where the basic shell might by thought to be affordable to someone of average means, but once you figure in the cost of land, hooking up utilities, installing interior walls and appliances, etc. the cost goes far beyond the affordable for the Average Joe.  I tend to think of it as a deceptive and dishonest method of marketing.  Much like a car dealer advertising a basic stripped down base model of a car for a low price.  When they get to the dealership they find out that the features most people have come to expect costs 50% more.
