If you want to save the environment and your hand, ditch your ballpoint and use a fountain pen that fills from bottled ink. They’re easier to write with (with practice), look better, you can use them forever, and even a used 50 year-old Parker 51 will probably write better than whatever you’re using now. The ballpoint solved some problems in its day, but modern FP’s have overcome most of those and unlike their disposable cousins they won’t end up in a landfill.
