the restorative justice model is already being used in some cities as a choice for low level offenses in the u.s.minneapolis already utilizes it for a variety of crimes and most go through the organization restorative justice community action, inc. http://www.rjca-inc.org/let’s hope that rjca’s continued evaluation of the effectiveness of restorative justice in minneapolis leads to an increased use.
this is just further escalation from the madness we experienced in the twin cities during the rnc. dissent is constantly being brutally silenced.

A percentage of their profits go towards a few non profits and each t-shirt has a story attached to it.
first off, charter schools do amazing things, i could not love them more and i think they create people who LOVE to learn and who leave school aching for more, instead of leaving school happy to never return.
but why do we never look at the fact of WHY we need them?
so why do we… because we have left public schools to rot. we really have just given up on them. we need to loosen these restrictions, since these charter schools work so well. every damn school should be like a charter school, full of experiential learning opportunities, full of teachers who yearn to learn from their students as much as their students yearn to learn from them.
it’s a simple solution.
don’t create new schools. turn the old into what the new is and you’ve solved the problem.
i know rjca has evaluation on the recidivism rate in the program as compared to prison and if you can’t find it on their website, http://www.rjca-inc.org, i would try contacting them directly. hopefully you can find what you are looking for there!
