About chriskorbey

chriskorbey hasn't filled out their profile yet.

After ten years of design and art direction in New York, I decided to move to the other side of the camera. Almost immediately, I felt the urge to trade good coffee in Brooklyn for blue skies and room to think in Texas. Now I shoot, design, write and tinker in an excessively large studio surrounded by mounds of oddities, my wife Holly and our two kids. Life is good.

Transparency: Foods That Might Make You Sick

Until recently, food-borne illness was most often associated with contaminated meat. But after last year’s tomato scare, illness from more innocous-seeming foods has become more acknowledged. With the exception of meat, which falls under the purview of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, most of America’s food sources are overseen by the Food and Drug Administration. Some argue that the FDA isn’t empowered to do enough to enforce food-safety regulations, and legislation is currently before Congress…

Transparency: Biking to Work

The battle over which North American city is the best for biking is fierce and— most likely—unresolvable. Our latest Transparency will tell you which cities’ residents make the largest percentage of their commutes by bike. Portland, Oregon, you can keep on gloating.

Transparency: The Rise of Atheism in America

America has always been a religious country. But a recent study finds that might be changing; The percent of the country who considers themselves atheists is rising rapidly. While they still make up a small minority in comparison to the major religions, the current trends indicate that we may not be one nation, under God, forever. Our latest Transparency is a look at what we believe.
