Dr. Gabrielle Miller joined Raising A Reader as National Executive Director in December of 2008. Raising A Reader’s mission is to engage parents in a routine of daily “book cuddling” with their children from birth to age five to foster healthy brain development, parent-child bonding, and early literacy skills critical for school success.nnPrior to assuming her current role, Dr. Miller was the Vice President for Programs at Reading is Fundamental, the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit literacy organization. Before joining RIF, Dr. Miller served as Assistant Vice President of Educational Programs at The Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD, where she held a number of positions ultimately assuming a leadership role in the special education department. Dr. Miller earned her bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from the University of Delaware and completed her both her master’s and doctoral studies in special education and administration from The Johns Hopkins University.
