Loving life, learning for the sake of learning, helping others, caring for the earth, meeting other like-minded individualswhat could I, as an individual, do to promote this kind of thinking in Tampa, FL? The laws here require that I ride on the road, not the sidewalk (which would not be good for a person riding as they often are overhung or in disrepair) and people here yell from their cars at bikers quite frequently. And the city it’s self is barely car-friendly in most places. This makes riding bikes kind of nerve-wracking, and deters a lot of people.
I love it that people care enough about others to make sure programs like this exist. It helps to remind me of how beautiful the world really is.
Not only does it cost that much to house a prisoner, but think of the costs associated with providing public defenders and police officers. Then consider how difficult it is to keep those positions filled with quality employees when we have a failing school system. this is clearly an exponential problem that has been spiraling out of control for some time. Perhaps, if the number one cause of non-violent criminals being put in jails is drugs then the government should figure out how to make it so fewer people turn to drugs. the funding can’t be going to the right place if the problem is consistently getting worse, can it?
This is a far more creative and productive way to address the issue than most. I applaud those responsible.
