Oh, it’s just so. If only every one could just be civil and get along. Being polite with each other. The world is so vast, one would think that smokers and non-smokers could choose some sort of common ground and not ban all the outdoors.
LKAdams, oh you frustrate me so.
I would imagine that most smokers, faced with someone having an asthma attack in their near vicinity, would put out their cigarette or move further away. Smokers aren’t always the evil assholes we make them out to be. My main concern is if we are to ban smoking outside, it turns into telling someone what they can and can’t do to their body, or what type of hobbies (yes, smoking could be considered a hobby) they can partake in. It just seems to go a bit far to me.
I hear you. However, I meant that you could move a little to the left, not the smoker. You’re the one that’s bothered by their act. I will agree with you tho, there is a bit of anger/frustration in dealing with some individuals who smoke. But, I don’t think that banning smoking outside is the best option. If smokers didn’t feel so attacked, they might be a little more pleasant.
This is a pretty great. Thanks for sharing.
Actually, lukepie, there are a vast amount of incidents caused by drinking too much alcohol which make it unhealthy. Such as date rape, DUI, and fights. So, technically, people drinking alcohol don’t only effect themselves. You know, if you don’t like being behind a smoker, you could say…move to the left a little. Then no civil liberties will be effected, and you can continue on your merry way.
Also, in addition to my last post… Why don’t we ban eating meat? I mean, A.) it’s murder (yes, yes, tasty murder, I know). B.) It’s harmful to our environment. So, you see.. If we start with banning certain things, where do we stop?
I, personally, think this is a harsh attack on civil liberities. If we start banning things because a select group of people doesn’t like or take part in them, what will be next? Alcohol? An excessively large cheesecake? SUVs (if you don’t get the tie in.. alcohol is just as big a killer as smoking, as is being overweight, as are SUVs with their blind spots and pollutants)?Perhaps we could just ask smokers to be more considerate. Maybe do a campaign on that instead of wasting time passing laws that infringe on liberties. I can’t imagine that the ACLU wouldn’t harp on that law anyhow..
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
This is extremely good news. This technology, tho old now, still remains relevant and exciting in many people’s minds.
