The width should say something about the degree of job losses, service cuts and fare hikes instead of reflecting ridership. Fun graphic — though based on how I've seen people try to read transit maps, I wonder how many people could figure out what it means.

If New Statesman is right about Republicans' approach to government, it's not like things are going to be that much better off for Democrats in any election cycle. And besides, it's a bit disingenuous to place blame for the economy on the future president when the events have so very clearly been set in motion by the previous one.

I don't think it made them seem equally inexperienced — the video did point out that Obama was 11 and Palin was 8 when Biden graduated from law school. It was just an attempt to tell these candidates' life stories, which I can appreciate.The only potential inaccuracy I found was the graphical representation of oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which implied that it could end imports from the Middle East (a circle with a red slash through the region), when in fact the oil there would only account for a very small percentage of our overall demand.
