Sorachai Kornkasem is a bilingual architect/designer, an enthusiastic lecturer and researcher who is inspired by how we think, act and live with the environment. His interests include the design thinking/cognitive knowledge and psychology that impact our lives dwelling with the nature while he is a big fan of new media/technology. He works bi-coastal regions, alternates between New York and Thailand. Served as an active member of the Environment & Technology Committee for the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage in Thailand, he is a writer for a "green living" column for Thailand's national newspaper and other design publications. In 1997, Sorachai graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, receiving the Master of Science in Architecture & Urban Design degree. He was awarded with the Edwin A. Horner Graduate Fellowship to complete his Master of Architecture in 1996 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign prior coming to New York. He attended Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand earning the Bachelor of Architecture (Distinction). In free times, he enjoys playing both outdoor/indoor sports, unless you just spot him in one of the public parks offered in the city as he claimed them as his classrooms.
