Do you remember those self-esteem projects from grade school in which a teacher would ask you to spell your name out vertically and write adjectives that describe you starting with each letter in your name?

Poor Alex..

Sharp-toothed shark preforms C-section on another Shark!

Visitors to Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World were stunned to see one shark give another shark an impromptu caesarean section.

Staff were initially dubious when visitors came running to tell them there were baby sharks spilling from a wound in a female school shark’s stomach – courtesy of a large bite by another shark.

But they found a female with a large gaping stomach wound and four babies swimming in the tank.

Kelly Tarlton’s aquarist Fiona Davies said it…

Germany’s bald bears: Fur disease afflicts Dolores and baffles vets

You’d have thought a fur coat would have been the ultimate bear necessity.

But not for the unfortunate Dolores who has lost all her body hair and has just been left with a few tufts around her head.

Vets have been left baffled by the condition of the bespectacled bear, who lives at a zoo in Leipzig.

The sudden hair loss has affected all female bears at the zoo.

Some experts believe it could be due to…

Get excited.

The opportunity to vacation in space may be right around the corner. A Barcelona-based company, Galactic Suite Ltd, plans to open a multi-billion dollar space resort in 2012.

The space pod will circumnavigate the Earth every 80 minutes, giving guests a chance to watch the sun rise 15 times a day.

Weightless space tourists will also “wear Velcro suits so they can crawl around their pod rooms by sticking themselves to the walls like Spiderman,” said Reuters.

“I think this would be a good time for a beer,” Franklin D. Roosevelt said upon signing a bill that made 3.2-percent lager legal again, some months ahead of the full repeal of Prohibition.

Our forms of prohibition are more sins of omission than commission. Rather than trying to take away longstanding rights, they’re instances of conservative laws failing to keep pace with a liberalizing society. But like Prohibition in the ’20s, these restrictions have…

Toyota makes its own flower species –

Toyota makes its own flower species –

Toyota has created two flower species that absorb nitrogen oxides and take heat out of the atmosphere.

The flowers, derivatives of the cherry sage plant and the gardenia, were specially developed for the grounds of Toyota’s Prius plant in Toyota City, Japan.

The sage derivative’s leaves have unique characteristics that absorb harmful gases, while the gardenia’s leaves create water vapor in the air, reducing the surface temperature of the factory surrounds and, therefore, reducing the energy needed…

Dell HQ Gets a 130 kW Solar Parking Lot with Plug-In Charging Stations

Park In the Shade, Recharge Your Plug-In Vehicle Dell’s headquarters in Round Rock, Texas, now have a shaded solar parking structure called the Solar Grove. It was built by Envision Solar, and it has a capacity of 130 kilowatts, which should help avoid about 145,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
But the clean electricity is only part of the benefit; there’s also some energy savings that come from the shade produced by the “solar…

Y Drive LA? Scooters to the Rescue!

  • Posted by: Tali Catz
  • on October 22, 2009 at 5:21 pm

Y Drive was founded in 2008 to provide a safe and responsible alternative to take drivers home in their own car without having to drive while impaired or tired.

If you ever see people in silver jackets at nightclubs, sporting events and concerts, that’s them!

They claim that the main reason people drink and drive is that they don’t want to leave their cars behind. They’ve come up with a solution:

You give the one of their drivers…

R. Assemblyman Mike Duvall & his family values.

Last July, Assemblyman Mike Duvall was caught on video bragging into a hot mic about his sexcapades with lobbyists. The video is all over the place this morning.

The married with children Orange County Republican decided to recount some steamy stories to a colleague sitting next to him. He was recorded boasting about his mistresses, their 19 year age difference, and vividly describing lewd details about his trysts.

Why I think this is GOOD: Duvall voted…
