Actually, this points to one of the best results of Obama’s candidacy and victory. I have volunteered in political campaigns since junior high, and the level of enthusiasm was remarkable. The benefit is that so many more people participated than usual; hopefully, the civic involvement he has engendered will continue. this is the first time when I expect the connections made through volunteering to actually continue, and perhaps continue.
