Answer President Obama's Call: How Will You Be a More Active Citizen?

Max Schorr

"Tonight you voted for action, not politics as usual... But that doesn’t mean your work is done. The role of citizens in our democracy does not end with your vote. America’s never been about what can be done for us; it’s about what can be done by us together, through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self-government."

Commit to doing more after the vote to help America be its best.

Choose one action you will do this year to be a better citizen.

Im going to get a bunch of mice and a bunch those lil bicycle light generators and try to make renewable energy.

I also thought about splicing wires and revamping the positive current into a series of transistors to isolate one current of electricity wattage into one closed circuit guage that would undulate inside without ever exhausting the charge and constantly accelerating the wattage... Sadly, it only started a small fire.

The city sorta tells me, not to be an active citizen.

Right off the bat, we're going to reduce our energy footprint: via home lifestyle, transportation, and choice of devices (and for the kids, toys) due to power source.

I look forward to the Los Angeles Mayoral Race and I want to be a part of it...Keep my kids interested. When my 12 year old saw the Electoral College numbers change after states were won...his face was in awe and I knew I had a new political junkie for life!

One immediate step - I'm going to spend time over the next month reducing the water consumption at my house.

      That is awesome.

I want to make more connections to elders in the community and am also interested engaging more in issues of transportation, energy, education, food, and homelessness. Going to reflect a bit more. Eager and inspired to step up my citizenship. Day by day.
