celebrate street food and small food businesses

La Cocina

Mission District, San Francisco, CA

80,000 people. 80+ vendors. Street food from around the world. This is the San Francisco Street Food Festival.

La Cocina’s Street Food Festival brings the best food in the Bay Area to one street, once a year, to celebrate the talent, taste and entrepreneurial spirit of people who make a living doing what they love to do.

Catch entrepreneurs like Alicia and Anna, low-income immigrants from Mexico and Russia, selling hand-crafted tamales and piroshkis next to restaurant stalwarts like 2013 James Beard Award winners for Best New Restaurant, State Bird Provisions.

They got their start in La Cocina's incubator kitchen, a non-profit that works with low-income immigrant women to formalize their food businesses. With over 30 businesses in the program, La Cocina's festival is a celebration of local food entrepreneurship, and of course, really delicious street food!
