Be in Touch with Your Local Leaders

Stef McDonald

Where
Anywhere

As a teen, I had the opportunity to meet my local Congressman and followed the handshake with a question about a local issue. (He answered and it felt thrilling!) That was the beginning of my correspondence with local leaders. If you're lucky enough to vote and contact your local leaders, take advantage. Call, send an email, or tweet to thank her for supporting a bill. Or let him know where you stand on an issue and demand action. Their job is to represent their constituents so it's up to you to ask for proper representation. And it feels good to be part of the process.
