I believe in spreading peace and understanding through food. For the last four years, I've been on a mission to cook food from every country in the world. Why? Because I believe EVERY country is worth celebrating, somehow. No matter what the political situations, I've tasted the simple truth: people everywhere want to feel safe to nurture & nourish their families...

NOW, I'd like to spread this good energy... If you can help by celebrating one country - cooking one country - maybe *together* we can celebrate ALL countries.

    I love this idea! Food is a common bond that has a way of bringing people together. Anyone in the Pittsburgh area should go visit Conflict Kitchen. They're using food as a way to educate Americans about countries we have conflicts with. It's educational and delicious.

    I feel food is the secret way to a person's mind! trying different food from around the world makes a person appreciate that small thing about that country or place.
    I just graduated from Art school and my thesis was about introducing Saudi Arabian food to America and mostly NYC; for it is so diverse, through making a Saudi cookbook.. (There are currently no Suadi Cookbooks except in Saudi Arabia) Just want people to know that there is more about a country that is so misrepresented through media and just appreciate and celebrate the saudi culture through it's amazing dishes.
    So thank you so much for posting this amazing idea! :)

    What a cool idea! I just got back from traveling in Tel Aviv and Greece, and I can't stop talking about how great the food was. Not only did it taste great, but our meals offered insights into culture, traditions, and relationships between people.

    It's interesting to see how many countries share similar food. Rice and plantains are staples in Ghana, just as they are in Mexico- it's just the way it's cooked that's different. I've made my own pasta and sushi before, but I'd like to try making something like bulgogi or kimchi. What would you make?
