Malala Yousafzai, a 14-yr old who campaigned for girls' rights, was shot in the head on her way home from school in Mingora, the main town in the Swat Valley, Pakistan. Malala is one of the best-known schoolgirls in the country. Young as she is, she has dared to do what many others do not - publicly criticize the Taliban.     Our well wishes go out to Malala Yousafzai in her recovery from the attack. It is a terrible thing to have happened to someone who is trying to enact change.

    DIL is proud that its collectivist efforts have led to full communities supporting the education revolution our schools are inciting. Hopefully more communities will be able to embrace education so that girls like Malala don't run the risk of being attacked.
