This is an awesome goal! I think I might scale this down to my own performance! Read 1 hour a day!

I finished a "book" one afternoon this last weekend: A Man Without a Country by Kurt Vonnegut. But it's more of a collection of essays, only 160 pages.

Setting smaller, achievable goals is really a key to success and carves a pathway to something greater. A book a day is a bit excessive and stretching it for a majority (even those who love to turn pages).

Goals need to be fun, and not so much a chore. I think for the other commenters who are starting off with a-book-a-week is a good challenge to the individual. Being able to accomplish that is a sound beginning. Surely, you'll increase that quota...if you're actually trying to meet a quota.

Yes, I definitely think a book a week would be a lot easier and more manageable with my busy social life :) It's a great goal to have, though!

Don't know if I can do a book a day without turning to comic books, teen fiction, or "See Spot Run," but a minimum of a book a week, at least 52 in the year sounds like a good idea.

My goal is a book per week this year. I'll start there.

I love this idea! For me personally, a book a day sounds a bit chaotic, but something more like 3 books a month or so is more doable.
