Tear Down This Wall!

Raafat Majzoub

Tear Down This Wall! is a call for action that is launched by The Outpost magazine in an attempt to trigger thought about the walls that stand between the Arab youth and their possibilities. It is a grassroots movement that intends to engage citizens in the Arab world in reclaiming control over their lives by spreading awareness of these walls obstructing them from their unity, social progress, urban development and personal potential, and declaring them sites of action as opposed to matter-of-fact obstacles.

Hello! Thanks for the link, looks interesting, I'll give it a read.

The project is part awareness (of these walls) and part action. The flagging of these walls with the stickers is the first phase of the project where people get to think about their personal walls and make their objection tangible.

The second phase is where we take this information and elaborate on it editorially in The Outpost magazine's issue three (www.the-outpost.com & facebook.com/theoutpostme)

The action part relies on the sum of individual actions as opposed to a centrally controlled movement. We think that's interesting and are excited to experiment with what that could entail in the region: Individual reform within institutional mayhem.

The project will shape up as we go, and we'll be updating everything on a Blog (soon to become live) on www.teardownthiswall.me

Again, thanks a lot for the comment and Keep the GOODness coming!
