Countless people are misdiagnosed, undergo multiple surgeries, become dependent on painkillers, and suffer from 20-30 years of accumulated back pain. Types of back pain may vary, but everyone suffers the same: limited mobility, loss in quality of life, and over time -- minor to severe depression.
For those who suffer, our health services industry has little to offer beyond pain medication, shots, PT sessions, and surgery. Oftentimes the solution is much, much simpler. If only everyone understood how the body works.

    I definitely need to be more aware of my body and posture. I often have chronic pain. I'm wondering how you're tackling things like carpal tunnel? I should go to yoga more often, but I have to do restorative, as my neck was broken in an accident. I also find acupuncture is really helpful.

      Hi Alessandra, I'm Jessica, the owner of this 3D yoga video. Carpal tunnel is not something I cover in this current video, but it is totally related to the spine, because all nerves originate from the brain and spinal cord. Most people who sit in front of a computer all day will develop back problems, whether it's in the lower back or neck and shoulders. However general yoga is not the solution, as people with pain and spine ailments need much more specific instructions and adjustments to address their unique bodies, and general yoga is taught like exercise these days -- you have just as much of a chance of getting injured as getting healed. My video project will SHOW you what is going on in your back and why it is so difficult to get "good" posture. It'll also help you locate the source of your problems and help you relieve them.         Great to know all this. I have to do something about my carpal tunnel, as well as my back. Do you recommend specific exercises that can be done daily to avoid pain? I plan on putting this on good.is/push-for-good, our guide to crowdsourcing creative progress!

          Absolutely, only you can fix your back, not the chiropractor or spine surgeon. I would say that in general, you need to release tight hamstrings and psoas, which are the major hip flexors and extensors. Without actually seeing you, I can't tell you exactly what you need. However, the purpose of making this video is to show all the different ways people are tight / imbalanced, so you can identify with what's shown in the video.
