When standing in dreadful lines it’s best to play games: One could count the number of green things in the room, try to calculate square roots in my head, create stories for the line-sitters around me, think of pretty things—do anything and everything to pretend she is not standing in line.     The airport experiment is so interesting. It's true, you have to walk so far to get your luggage, etc. but by the time you get there and your bags are waiting, it can feel like you're in and out of the airport.
