Announcing the GOOD Design Hackathon in New York City

From designers to developers, you're invited to our Design Hackathon, a challenge on the theme of 21st-century citizenship.

Next month, GOOD is bringing together geeks of all stripes to tackle some big questions. From designers to developers, you're invited to our Design Hackathon, a challenge on the theme of 21st-century citizenship. Participants will brainstorm, design, and demonstrate the learning tool they think will most empower average New Yorkers to become better citizens. We’re looking for the most innovative and creative people, who want to push the envelope of interaction design during a weekend full of guest speakers and fun prototyping.

With a year full of big changes happening in politics, culture, technology, and media, we want you to design one tool to promote and support all of the following goals: meaningful connections, efficient transportation, clever consumption, educational reform, cleaner environments, and smart economies. What does that look like? How will it work? Where and when will you use it? We never said it would be easy.

Design Hackathon is hosted at Parsons the New School for Design from Friday, March 2 to Sunday, March 4. Current university students, recent grads, and young working professionals are invited to sign up now in teams of no more than four. Register online at good.parsons.edu.

Winners will have the chance to work alongside GOOD developers to turn their final design into reality. They will also be published in GOOD magazine and receive GOOD apparel from our shop. Honorable mentions will be recognized on good.is.

So get your creative engines ready. See you March 2.
