Apps for Good: Tracking/Reducing Energy Use at Home

How would you like your household appliances–refrigerator, tv, washer, dryer, air conditioner–to tell you when they are using too much energy?

A team of recent Caltech graduates have formulated a new mobile app that consumers can use to track and reduce their energy usage at home. In real time, homeowners can actively monitor and manage the energy usage of their individual appliances, with a goal of reducing power consumption and energy costs.
