'Boys Are Like Puppies, Girls Aim to Please': Gender Stereotyping in the Classroom

Our culture is full of gender stereotypes, and the classroom is no exception to that reality. A new study by an Australian academic reveals that although only a few "teachers decided to hold a child back or advance them based on their gender, most if not all were very upfront in saying they felt boys and girls learn very differently." But relying on that "learn differently" adage means too few teachers actually pay attention to "the individual child that’s right in front of them."
