Today, Branch is now becoming more open to allow others to dip into the conversation. Check it out and see if this is a platform worth subscribing.

Do you think there is a need for a discussion format like this or are platforms like these trying to entice a need, removing discussion from the source of the content?

I think it's safe to admit a thread of comments are often times more interesting then themed content. Forums, often poorly designed and hard to follow, was a solution ten years ago. But as we become more opinionated as an internet society, we need something to better support brainstorming, show-and-tell, or debate.

Branch is focusing on tone and flow. But they need time to really observe if it'll stick.

Lets put it this way: If Branch can make a discussion between a CEO of a Fortune 500 company and a developer from a startup feel as comfortable but meaningful as a date, they might be onto something.
