    Thank you for this piece, Liz. From the few minutes of radio coverage I've heard, I have to echo Ryan's comment -- the soundbites I've come across haven't at all communicated that the teachers' core concern here is their ability to effectively serve students. Pay, hours, and benefits were the issues I heard about. I agree the teachers are more likely to succeed in negotiating if they can ground their complaints in concern for students. (For what it's worth, it seems to me like a raw deal that they can't just advocate for fair compensation for the [incredibly demanding and important] work they do.)
