Cheese on Ice: Could This Be The Best Idea in Winter Upcycying Ever?

"America’s Dairyland" state, Wisconsin, is piloting a program to use whey--the byproduct of cheesemaking--to deice frozen streets in Milwaukee. Whey produced from, say, mozzarella or provolone, has a super high salt content and minimal smell or other hazards to nature (unlike salt itself or, worse, those blue crystals used elsewhere). This may be the best kind of upcycling I've ever encountered.
