Creative Reuse in Fine Art: Dr. Regina Rei Lamourelle

GreenLifeGal

Dr. Lamourelle uses what she calls RIZAGE, the process of creating artwork using naturally tinted rice and grains. Taken from the French words “riz” for rice and “age” from collage meaning to create a new whole by glueing different materials and forms together. Rizage allows Dr. Lamourelle to create masterpieces from organic materials.

Each piece is tinted using natural color sources, such as spices, coffee & berries and is sealed with eco-friendly materials to protect the grains and seeds.

Her artwork is so detailed... you almost have to see it up close and in person to fully understand the intricacies involved in the background patterns and the placement of each seed and grain to achieve the overall imagery. Definitely something to behold!!
