Do you have a passion project? Why *now* is the time to start one!

Ernest Barbaric

There will be a time when you'll think back to this very moment and either regret that you didn't act, or cherish that you did.

I believe passion projects are incredibly important. Both for our own well being and as our contribution to the world. Learn how two regular people started theirs, what they've gained as a result, and you too can get started.

I am a big fan of passion projects! My life has changed so dramatically when I stopped doing what I thought I "should" do and started being creative in making my passion projects work for my life. Our latest one is www.fivepointfive.org where we travel the world collecting stories of people who make a difference to their communities. We are only 2 years in and every day is now an adventure :)
I would love to interview you for one of my websites if you would be keen!

    • Ernest Barbaric

Breaking through that barrier has been a huge, HUGE transformative experience for me as well.

5.5 sounds like a really great project :)

I'm not sure if I have anything really great to contribute for an interview, but if I can help - definitely get in touch at hello [at] ernestbarbaric.com and we can chat!

Thanks again for reading & sharing :)

I really appreciated this post. It's quite timely. After hemming & hawing for close to a year and a half a friend and I finally launched our own Passion Project this past week. http://www.happylittlethings.org. The whole point was to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients...the only way we knew how was through art.

Hi Amber - that's amazing! Thank you for sharing :)

Would you be interested in doing a podcast interview? I'd love to find out more about this story and share it.

This is fantastic. I started my own Project Passions a few years ago and launched a site for it not long ago (http://sdotekeste.com/projectpassions/), and needed the boost to revisit and revive it. I too am a strong supporter of sharing other peoples stories and spreading....GOOD!

Thanks again for posting this! :)

I am into this move too. Thanks for sharing. We have a lot to give.

    • Ernest Barbaric

Thanks Lee :) Everyone does, but it seems to get beaten out of us by the time we start working and paying bills.

It's great you took the initiative to reach out and tell people's stories. I think one of the best things you can do is just ask.

    • Ernest Barbaric

Thank you :) I started doing that this year, and it's great. I learn a lot and folks who share their insights get to tell their story and gain a little bit more exposure.

It's a great way to expand your network too! I did that a lot with Push for Good on good.is. While the Saturday roundup is no longer, the hub still flourishes because people always love posting about their crowdsourcing projects: good.is/pushforgood.
