Recycling "vending" machines are the norm in upstate NY! I always used them, but never thought of them as vending machines. After moving to L.A. I found the weight stations to be odd, but there are a couple of the machine types at grocery stores. I was in a mall in L.A. the other day that had a vending machine for caviar...that was certainly strange!

I saw a few of these in Berlin last November. They do look like they get used and I was surprised by the concept. The most difficult part is to make sure that the problem you are solving with these will highly outweigh the cost of developing them. Might be cultural, but I don't ever see myself buying eggs from a vending machine like that.

I love the bike tire vending machine - would be even more interesting if you could deposit/recycle your popped tire for a discount!

Not sure if this is an efficient way since it's going to cost much more than what you can get from the recycled bottles. But definitely a great and meaningful idea to inform and encourage people to recycle.

Oh wow. I've been writing a paper on Fun Theory and I've checked out their stuff before. Fun is always the ultimate tool for anything. Thanks for the great video! You should share a Learn about it!

I tried but somebody beat me too it. I'd love to take a look at the paper whenever you're finished.
