Formal Schooling Needs Some Maker Movement Magic

Tinkering instead of test prep? Educator Gary Stager says formal schooling could benefit from an infusion of the creative, "learn by doing" spark that the Maker Movement has to offer. At the recent International Society for Technology in Education conference Stager said that by incorporating project-based learning into the classroom, educators can tap key Maker elements, like tinkering, inquiry, problem solving, and create more positive memories of school.
