GOOD Maker Challenge Winner: Filmmakers in Search of Scaleable Innovation

This content is brought to you by GOOD with support from Marriott Hotels and Resorts®

Last December we put out a call for ambitious, creative entrepreneurs through our GOOD Maker Challenge: Live, Work and Create in L.A. Looking to find creatives who need a little help to push an idea into action, we decided to open up the GOOD offices for a week to the winner. We received tons of great submissions and we’re excited to announce that Educate 20/20 is the winner, as voted by the GOOD community.

The core team of eight individuals at Educate 20/20 is travelling the country to capture and share ideas and stories from innovative teachers, students and community members to create open source guides for education. Along the way additional team members will join the ride for a few weeks at a time. The end result will be a toolkit and documentary that will help others in the education space replicate—and be inspired by—the innovative teaching models by fellow educators around the country.

Rachel Thor, the leader behind it all, will be coming to GOOD HQ in early March to spend a week in our office gaining insight from the creatives here. Thor, whos senior college thesis is riding on Educate 20/20’s findings, says, “We look forward to working with [GOOD’s] talented team to improve our software design and business plan, to expand our reach and offer our open source education best practices guides to hundreds of thousands of people.”
