Guerrilla Street Art Campaign in Germany Covers Fast Food Ads With Recipes

Lara Rabinovitch

How's this for street art: someone (or people?) in Cologne are covering fast food ads with easy-to-make recipes. it's definitely a much better approach than simply communicating negative or aggressive messages...

Calling out that convenience and ease are drivers of fast food eating behavior seems logical. Agreed that it might be nice to have them all over to keep it top of mind that cooking food doesn't need to be a chore...or take a lot of time. what if you had the recipe and coupons for all the ingredients (to make it cost comparable) and directions to the nearest store? Could we motivate people to switch to the recipe right then and there?

So cool, hope these come to Berlin. I don't think this would backfire because the whole point is to bring attention to the fast food, but then show that you should be choosing the alternative: a healthy, home cooked meal. And actually buying the ingredients for spaghetti bolognese will probably be cheaper (if you don't go the artisinal route) for a couple of meals than buying a bunch of fast food.

Such a great idea!! It's great how short and simple these recipes are.

I love how this emphasizes that food convenience can come with real wholesome ingredients.
