In Alzheimer's Disease, Maintaining Connection and 'Saving Face'

We tend to gloss over Alzheimer's Disease as an "elderly" problem, one in which a small part of the population only need concern themselves. And while age is a risk factor, Alzheimer's Disease not only affects families and caregivers (therefore a diverse age demographic) but also the social sphere in economical and personal human values.

'Dr. Potts tells us that we must recognize "that personhood still exists, even in the presence of Alzheimer's disease and assist the person in saving face."'
