Illinois Governor Pat Quinn brought Diane Ravitch to speak in Chicago. Despite the hate she gets from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the governor called her as "the preeminent expert on education" and "one of the best we have in America." Could Quinn's pointed endorsement of Ravitch's straight talk against "bashing teachers, busting teacher unions, doling out millions to the mayor’s charter school cronies and forcing kids to take one high-stakes standardized test after another," spark a policy shift?
