A lesser known success in Myanmar is the radical reduction in the rate of HIV infected female sex workers, from 40% in 2005 to less than 10% today. The secret? A 100% peer-led program, such as AMA, which uses the empowerment-model to provide health education, referral services, counseling, and financial literacy training to sex workers. In this case, 'good-making' was most effective when local communities were given direct ownership over the change process.
