Keeping Pets Kosher for Passover

As Passover begins this week, most Jews take leavened grains out of the home, like wheat, in remembrance of the fact they didn't have time to let bread rise while fleeing Egypt. Jews follow dietary restrictions for eight days and some make their pets do the same. One store in Michigan is making it easy for Jews to find Kosher for Passover pet food by using certified tags. For those less stringent, giving pets to non-Jewish friends during the holiday is acceptable. Some Jews even feed pets in the garage, though others consider the garage to still be a part of the home.
