Miss Landmine Tells the Story of Beauty Pageants for Female Amputees

Watch the trailer for Miss Landmine, the documentary about controversial beauty pageants for female victims of landmines.

Here's the trailer for Miss Landmine, a film about a beauty pageant for female amputees who've survived encounters with landmines (which we've mentioned before). The pageants are meant to empower women (especially disabled women), question the nature of the beauty we most often celebrate, and raise awareness about the real threats landmines pose around the world—parts of Cambodia are littered with and plagued by them. It sounds like a pageant that does far more good than harm, but as you can see from the trailer, it's not without controversy.
