New way to find and buy green products from Amazon

Jen Chiou

Their new site-- vine.com-- looks pretty but I'd rather just have filtered search results within Amazon rather than need to go to a different site.

"Amazon.com is going after the environmental crowd with a new site called Vine.com for buying green products.....Vine will sell everything from cleaning supplies to baby accessories, beauty supplies and clothes — as long as they are green."

I think the operation Amazon has built is incredible, and I use it frequently because of the convenience, but I've been thinking more and more about the downside of using their service. I've heard the stories about people working insane hours to fulfill orders, thought about the environmental impact of having 1 or 2 things shipped to my home (is it any worse if I drive out to get it myself?), etc. A suppose a "green" Amazon is a step in the right direction for one part of the equation.
