Burka Avenger is a mysterious black-clad superhero and a shy teacher during the day. Outside the classroom, she is a master of martial arts who flies and clonks her enemies in the head with books and pens. The first animated series to be produced in Pakistan, Burka Avenger is the brainchild of local pop star Haroon, who wanted to create a positive role model to counter the Taliban’s ongoing opposition to girls’ education.
