From the latest United Nations development report: "The world is witnessing a epochal 'global rebalancing' with higher growth in at least 40 poor countries helping lift hundreds of millions out of poverty and into a new 'global middle class'. Never in history have the living conditions and prospects of so many people changed so dramatically and so fast."

    Since trade is a major in a lot of the countries that have made major leaps-- it's interesting to think how this can be brought to other countries and replicated. I know there have been initiatives to test bringing more manufacturing from Asia to places like Ethiopia and it will be interesting to see how that develops in the next decade or so.
