This week's post is "Transparency: Who Has Given the Most to Haiti,"a collaboration between GOOD and Design Language. The post illustrates the disparities of donations that have come to fruition since the earthquake in Haiti.Representing the donated amount in millions from individual donors, NGOs, businesses and countries, the aesthetic result of the statistics proved controversial. Some comments voiced concerns about Canada's represented donations at the time of posting. Others, like commenter dskimin, who wrote, "Really? Giselle gave more than Goldman Sachs and Citibank?" seemed more surprised by the visual. And there's a fair bit to be surprised about; like Sandra Bullock and the Coca Cola Corporation donating the same amount. Or the fact that individual out-of-pocket donations soared well past those of major banks, countries, celebrities and aid relief organizations, second only to donations from the U.S.For more Transparency posts, check out: Transparency: State-by-state Abortion Rates, Transparency: Is New Airport Security Causing Flight Delays, Transparency: GOOD's Most Popular Infographics of 2009For more posts on Haiti: Haiti: A Reading List, Somali Pirates: Down to Help Haiti, Picture Show: Haitian Earthquake Appeal
