Project: What's the Next Giant Leap for Mankind?

On May 25, 1961, President John F. Kennedy presented Congress and the nation with an audacious challenge: Send a man to the moon by the end of the decade. As Kennedy explained, "that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills." And they measured up. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took that giant leap for mankind.

There's no shortage of big problems today. Hunger and disease continue to affect large parts of the developing world, we're running out of resources, and we're altering the natural world in ways we don't totally understand. At the same time, the pace of scientific and technological progress is accelerating. Advances in health care, transportation, and communication can help us solve these problems. But we need a goal to organize and measure our energies and skills.

So we're asking you: What’s the next big, bordering-on-crazy idea for humanity? And here's the twist: We want you to draw your idea.
