It might be time to get a little "Terminator"-style paranoid because the Cambridge Project for Existential Risk--a cofounder of Skype is a member-- is worried that artificial intelligence "may soon pose new, extinction-level risks to our species as a whole." As in, "escaping the constraints of biology" and directing "resources towards their own goal at the expense of human desires." Gulp.

      Horrifying? Yes. Exciting? The jury is still out on this. We need a fail safe shutoff for all this--a battery pull that can happen with the flick of a switch.
