San Fran's Bay Bridge To Become a Shimmering Light Sculture

The Bay Bridge is an iconic sculpture in San Francisco, which opened on November 12,1936. To celebrate its upcoming 75th anniversary, artist Leo Villareal wishes to transform the 1.5-mile bridge into a large light installation with 25,000 individually programmable white LED lights. Once switched on, the lights appear to be shimmering and moving, creating the illusion of large glistening curtains. The project still needs an additional $3 million, which is a crazy amount to spend on decorations.
